1. Information we process
- Account information: Email address, nickname, user ID and account status.
- User content: Text, photos, Live Photos, video and audio, and public or private visibility settings.
- Location and spatial information: Precise location, echo coordinates and heading information needed for nearby echoes, AR placement and nearby alerts.
- Safety and moderation information: Report reasons, blocked-user relationships, moderation records and necessary activity records.
- Technical and authentication security information: Sign-in, registration, email verification, token refresh and sign-out events, and IP addresses, client information and timestamps automatically recorded by the cloud authentication service for security, access control and rate limiting.
- Permissions and feature interactions: Used to determine whether camera, photos, microphone, location and notification features are available.
2. How we use information
We use this information to create and maintain accounts, save and sync echoes, display content on the map and in AR according to visibility settings, provide nearby alerts you choose to enable, and handle reports, blocking, moderation, security and troubleshooting.
Echo uses an echo on the launch screen only after you separately authorize it and it passes human review. You can withdraw permission at any time.
3. System permissions
Camera, photos, microphone, location and notification permissions are requested as needed. Declining a permission does not prevent use of unrelated features. Nearby alerts require you to enable notifications and Always location access. These permissions are not required for other core features.
4. Storage, sharing and public content
Echo uses cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase to store accounts and content you choose to upload, supporting authentication, syncing and public echoes. The authentication service keeps necessary security audit records. We do not sell your personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
Public echoes may show nearby users the content, your nickname, a place summary and the creation time. Private echoes are visible only to your account. Do not include identity documents, home addresses, contact details or another person's sensitive information in public content.
5. Retention and deletion
Information is kept as long as needed to provide the service and meet necessary security obligations. You can delete individual echoes or delete your account in Profile. Account deletion removes your account, uploaded content and related personal information through the system's deletion process, except information required by law or necessary for security audits.
6. Your choices
You can change content visibility, withdraw launch screen permission, turn off permissions in Settings, delete echoes, delete your account, or contact support to request access, correction or deletion.
7. Minors
If you are below the age of consent for digital services where you live, use Echo only after a parent or guardian has read and agreed to this policy. Do not publish sensitive personal information about minors in public echoes.
